Вот ув.тов.Ганди пишет. А я нахватаю фраз. Потому что я люблю красивые фразы, а суть меня не интересует. Суть где-то рядом, но в другом месте, "когда речь идет о профессионализме".
"Tests fail, developer succeeds." Nope. Software fails, developers succeed. We keep our jobs thanks to multiplying limitations of the evolving technology. Unit testing would not feed you.
"We are all idiots in the eyes of other idiots." Ha, some of us are doing this just for fun. Also, I do believe that the brain-entertaining habbit, part of which is unconsciously induced self-hypnosis, cannot be art, but religion. We are all monks, in the eyes of other monks.
The greatest disappointment of the monk is an infidel. Though one cannot measure depths of ones beliefs without them. While you are bragging about PHP code converted to Java, consumers are not questioning what it is made of, as long as it works. The one who starts asking questions, eventually becomes one of the monks.
"What's so important that we produce by spending nights saving bytes? Nothing." Nothing. As long as it is not sold. What can get sold? Someone's illusion implemented to the full extent of reality, that is what gets sold.
We are in entertainment business, and purists are fucking boring.
